On the 14th of February 2020, Embassy of the Republic of Serbia and Honorary Consul Kypros Eliades organized a reception in Hilton Nicosia Hotel, on the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Serbia. The reception welcomed guests from the political and public life of Cyprus, members of the diplomatic missions and Serbian diaspora.

Present was also Mr Fotis Fotiou, Presidential Commissioner for humanitarian affairs, as a special representative of the President of the Republic of Cyprus. In his speech, among other things, he conveyed President Anastasiades’ congratulations and wishes to Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and all the people of Serbia. Once again, he reiterated the Cyprus Government firm support to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia, as to its European integrations.

Ambassador Blagojević pointed out in his speech that the Republic of Serbia strongly supports the sovereignty and the legitimate rights of the Republic of Cyprus to explore and exploit natural resources in its exclusive economic zone, and reiterated the Republic of Serbia’s support to the efforts of the Republic of Cyprus in reaching a righteous and sustainable solution for the Cyprus question.
