Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Nikola Selakovic continued today his official visit to Cyprus by meeting with Archbishop Chrysostomos II of Cyprus.

The meeting took place at the Archbishopric in Nicosia, on which occasion the Serbian Foreign Minister gifted to Archbishop Chrysostomos II a facsimile edition of the Miroslav's Gospel, the oldest Serbian book written in Cyrillic in the last quarter of the 12th century.

Furthermore, Minister Selakovic also brought as a gift a photo print of Archbishop Chrysostomos II with the recently deceased Serbian Patriarch Irinej, taken during the Archbishop's visit to Belgrade. The Archbishop of Cyprus gave Minister Selakovic a silver icon depicting the two first apostles who arrived to Cyprus and "opened the door" to Christianity.

Before the talks with the Archbishop, Minister Selakovic had a tour of the St. John's Cathedral located at the Archbishopric.

Minister Selakovic will bring his visit to Cyprus to an end by meeting with Presidential Commissioner for Humanitarian Issues and Overseas Cypriots Fotis Fotiou as well as members of the Serbia-Cyprus Friendship Association.
